Medicational treatment is the best treatment of Tuberculosis disease. But the treatment of TB takes much more time than any other type of bacterial diseases.
If someone is having Tuberculosis then he/she must have to take antibiotics for 6 to 9 months.but that the exact drugs and the length of the treatment depends upon the age,overall health,drugs resistance,Tuberculosis form whether it is active or passive in nature,and location of infection in body of the patience.
According to some recent research, it is proved that a shorter term treatment of four months instead of nine may be work effective in keeping latent TB from becoming active TB.In a shorter course, TB treatment patients have to take care more effectively and he/she have to take all their medication and also there is a lesser risk of side effects.further research work and studies are also going on.

Most Common Tuberculosis Drugs

If someone is having latent Tuberculosis then he/she need to take just one type of TB drug.but active Tuberculosisparticularly if it’s a drug resistance strain, then it will require several drugs at a time.
The most common medication that are used to treat Tuberculosis is listed below.

  •     Pyrazinamide
  •     Ethambutol
  •     Rifampin (Rifadin, Rimactane)
  •     Isoniazid


If you have a drugs resistance TB, then you need a combination of antibiotics called fluoroquinolones and injectable medications, such as amikacin, kanamycin or capreomycin, these are generally used for 20 to 30 months.There is also some type of TB which are developing resistance to these medications as well.

  •    Delamanid
  •    Bedaquiline


Side Effects Of The Medicational Treatment


It is noted that a serious side effects of TB does not come into existence, but it might come into existence. And may be dangerous for the patients.While taking these medications if you find any problem then immediately call the doctor as these medicational treatment are toxic for the liver.If you find any give below symptoms then call a doctor immediately.

  •       High fever which persists for three to four days
  •       If your urine is dark
  •       If you have any symptoms of jaundice like yellowing color  of the skin
  •       Severe loss of appetite

Completion Of The TB Treatment Is Necessary

If you are going through a TB treatment then don’t leave the medication in midway if you start feeling better rather you have to complete the full medication.So don’t stop taking the TB drugs.As it a bacterial disease so stopping the TB drugs before the full medication allows the bacteria that are still alive to become persistence to those drugs, leading to TB that is much more difficult to treat.A program directly observed treatment therapy ( DOTS ) may recommend to help the people in TB medications.So follow all the above steps that are mentioned in order to remove the TB from a root level.
